Position Summary / Purpose :
Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents' needs.
GCU maintains a partnership with Hustle PHX located at 1 North 1st Street, Suite 708, Phoenix, AZ, 85004. Hustle PHX provides intellectual, social, and financial capital to low-income, underserved entrepreneurs to start businesses which glorify God and serve their community. They hope to empower entrepreneurs to support themselves, their families, and communities through wealth creation and job opportunities. The CSLP student worker's work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Hustle PHX; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall / spring).
CSLP : This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, "Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need." These services must be open and accessible to the community.
As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Essential Functions :
YEP's mission is to empower youths in Arizona juvenile detention facilities. It is similar to the 14-week adult program that that teaches participants how to start a business. The main difference between the adult version and YEP is that YEP focuses on providing financial literacy and the basics of business.
Assist with teaching the YEP curriculum. Develop program material. Work with other team members to host program-related events. Other duties as assigned.
