Midtown Montessori Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Assistant to join our team at the Berkeley Park Campus. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children in a nurturing, Montessori environment.
Position Overview :
The After-School Assistant will support the After-School Lead in providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children during our extended care program. This position is part-time, with hours typically from 3 : 00 PM – 5 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday .
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise and engage with children in a safe and developmentally appropriate manner.
Assist in leading activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and group games.
Support children in developing independence and positive social interactions.
Maintain a clean and organized after-school environment.
Communicate effectively with staff and parents regarding student needs and daily activities.
Follow all school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students.
Qualifications :
Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
A warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Must pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements.
