Our client an established international manufacturing company in the N. Towns of WNY is looking to hire a Senior Accountant / Cost Accountant to join their team. This position will be responsible for daily accounting activities specifically related to operations and the company is willing to train.
Responsibilities :
Perform daytoday cost accounting procedures such as collecting measuring accumulating and interpreting of internal cost information
Control and maintain standard cost system
Identify analyze and report operational manufacturing and purchasing variances for the plant while providing the root causes to ensure appropriate corrective action can be taken
Assist in operational improvement by providing relevant cost information to upper management
Perform monthend and yearend close relating to Sales Cost of Sales and Manufacturing Variances
Perform ad hoc and annual cost rolls
Prepare monthly budgets and analyze spending variances
Assist with preparing work papers and schedule for annual audit
Assist in planning forecasting and ad hoc analysis for the annual business plan
Participate in process improvement regarding monthend reporting ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Measure inventory movement and calculate the inventory reserve according to corporate policies
Measure cost of operations and material changes on a quarterly basis
Assist in resolving departmental / operational cost discrepancies account coding and variances
Perform project closings on a daily weekly and monthly basis ensuring error resolution by the appropriate personnel
Other duties as assigned / as necessary

Position is full time direct hire
100% inoffice MonFri 8 : 00am5 : 00pm
85000$110000 annually depending on experience
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or similar required
CPA or progress towards completion preferred
35 years as a senior or cost accountant required
Manufacturing experience highly preferred but audit public accounting firm encouraged to apply
Excellent accounting and math skills
Strong skills in indepth analysis variance investigation and enhancing financial performance
Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel
Strong attention to detail
Work well under deadlines
Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong organization skills and time management skills
