Job Summary :

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including various daily and month-end journal entries and facilitate both internal and external finance reporting. This role will be responsible for supporting a timely and accurate month-end close through the ownership of routine accounting cycles. In addition, this position will provide support for the recording of reserve data based on actuarial analyses and related reinsurance accounting processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assists with reinsurance intermediary account reconciliations.
• Prepares and assists with loss and reserve processes and related journal entries.
• Prepares monthly reinsurance billing and coordinates with outside brokers.
• Supports monthly catastrophe reinsurance reports.
• Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts; e.g. claims clearing, reinsurance paid recoverable, etc.
• Implements and maintains key analytical schedules and analyses.
• Serves as backup to process accounts payable invoices for payments.
• Assists with both GAAP and STAT financial reporting, including quarter and annual regulatory filings and audited FS.
• Cross trains with other individuals within the department to promote redundancies.
• Assists with other month-end closing duties as assigned.
