The Job :

• Plan and issue purchase orders for materials, goods, and services to be processed by external manufacturing firms or directed by operations management.
• Identify, select, qualify, and develop suppliers for MRO and indirect items and services as part of vendor management.
• Conduct RFQs, RFPs, and negotiations to secure the best prices, terms, and contracts for materials and services.
• Plan and maintain optimal inventory levels, often using tools like Plan for Every Part (PFEP), to ensure availability while minimizing costs.
• Implement sourcing strategies and cost-saving initiatives, approach to optimize expenses.
• Research industry trends, risks, and opportunities within assigned commodities.
• Manage standard purchasing processes, including procure-to-pay workflows, and maintain data integrity in the company's ERP system.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as supplier on-time delivery (OTD), past-due orders, and supplier performance to ensure efficiency.
• Assist Shipping and Receiving with preparation of export documents for outside processing orders.
• Resolve quantity, quality, documentation, and other discrepancies associated with procurement working directly with vendors and suppliers as needed.
• Obtain material return authorizations from suppliers for defective or excess materials.

The base pay range for this position in California is $70K - $85K per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
