About Ogilvy
David Ogilvy famously said : "If each of us hires people who are bigger than we are, we shall become a company of giants." We're looking for the 'giants' who will help us be better, think bigger and go farther to increase growth and impact for our clients, our culture and our communities.
For nearly two decades, Ogilvy has been at the forefront of social change—advancing personal and public health and safety through innovative communication initiatives. We have developed numerous social change campaigns to successfully raise awareness, educate and prompt action regarding some of today’s largest and most complex issues, ranging from homeland security to income taxes, emergency preparedness to heart disease, violence prevention to substance abuse—the list is extensive. We take great pride in deploying solutions that improve and save lives.
Ogilvy has a long-standing relationship with FEMA and is currently working to help build a country that is more resilient to natural disasters. As we continue to understand and adapt to the near- and long-term effects of changing risks, this work is of ever-increasing importance.
About the Role
Ogilvy is looking for a passionate and collaborative ACD Art / Design Lead with strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, through all phases of the design process. This role will primarily support our continued work with FEMA on the Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC) contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a federal agency and leverage expertise in design principles and information design. This unique program functions on national, regional, and community levels to engage a broad array of national and local stakeholders around the issues of natural disaster mitigation, planning, and capacity building to empower communities to drive resilience.
- Manage and execute project assignments using Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) to design and utilize Microsoft Word and PPT as well to format documents including long-format reports, handbooks and / or guidebooks. Collaborate with other departments to manage workflow and project assignments.
- Concept and direct non-design creative projects when needed, for example : film, experiential, social, web, interactive digital as well as tactical experiences (i.e. games).
- Manage and mentor designers and / or production artists.
- Work directly with functional area managers to resolve issues that impact completion of project objectives.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies in materials development and provide training / coaching where necessary.
- Drive for results and timely decision-making.
- Regularly assess quality of design, layout illustration, creative development, pre-press, proofreading and photography or materials.
- Work with stakeholders to interpret and transform raw data into clear and compelling charts, graphs, icons, graphics and other visual representations to convey information in an easily digestible format.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather necessary information, clarify design requirements, and provide project updates.
- Produce materials while ensuring 508 compliance as well as corporate brand consistency, visual identity, and layout for print or digital output.
- Provide assessment / performance feedback to peers and direct reports (if applicable).
- Review and proofread proposal materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Stay current with industry / advertising trends and apply them strategically.
- Monitor hours spent on projects to remain on budget.
