Augusta University invites applications from qualified nurse leaders for the position of Associate Dean, College of Nursing Athens Campus (CONAT). The Associate Dean will provide administrative leadership for the Athens campus including facility management and fiscal responsibility on matters related to the successful operations of CONAT. This position is part of the College of Nursing Leadership Team and reports directly to the Dean. This position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor and will not be on tenure track.
About the College of Nursing at Augusta University :
Nearly 20,000 nurses have graduated from the College of Nursing since it became the state’s first nationally accredited baccalaureate nursing program in 1943. Graduates, now located across the globe, have helped improve the accessibility and quality of health care throughout Georgia, the
US and around the world.
The College of Nursing provides undergraduate and graduate nursing programs of excellence to shape the future of nursing’s workforce. The prelicensure BSN and MSN programs produce nearly 400 graduates yearly, have excellent NCLEX pass rates and high employability. The Post-Graduate Certificates, most of the Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, and PhD in Nursing are offered online to allow additional flexibility for the working nurse. Au’s programs utilize a state-of-the-art simulation lab to enhance learning experiences, promote patient safety and facilitate student competencies in the clinical arena. With the support from alumni, donors and sponsors, over $125,000 in scholarships is provided for students each year.
Qualifications :
Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP). Candidates need to have an active license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia. Other desired qualifications are as follows :
- Academic teaching, administrative and leadership experience with both pre-licensure and graduate programs.
- Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be :
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)s requirements for institutional accreditation.
- Evidence of ability as a teacher.
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
