Product Line Manager

Location : Warrendale, PA

Position Type : Hybrid / Onsite

Position Overview

The Product Line Manager is responsible for driving the strategic direction, market positioning, and financial performance for the product line. This role will manage product development, market expansion, and profitability while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with overall business goals. Over time, this position will play a key role in managing product launches, improving product quality, and streamlining operations. With significant project management responsibilities, this role requires a candidate with strong business sense and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Product Line : Oversee all aspects of the product line, including financial performance, product lifecycle, and quality management.
  • Strategic Leadership : Work with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to develop and execute strategies for product growth and profitability.
  • Project Management : Lead new product launches and ensure customer commitments are met, driving project timelines and ensuring product quality.
  • Business Planning : Develop business plans, monitor financial progress, and manage budgets to meet objectives.
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination : Collaborate with sales, marketing, engineering, operations, and quality teams to meet product and project goals.
  • Risk Management : Negotiate contracts, manage risks, and ensure successful product delivery in line with market needs and company capabilities.
  • Process Improvement : Identify and address challenges in quality, logistics, and other operational processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Customer Engagement : Travel as needed to customer sites, managing relationships and ensuring successful project execution.
  • Growth Potential : Opportunity for future growth into senior management roles as the product line and team evolve.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with at least 7 years of experience in product management, sales, contract negotiation, and 3+ years of management experience.
  • Industry Knowledge : Familiarity with technical products and solutions is a plus.
  • Business Acumen : Strong financial skills and a proven ability to manage product lines and drive business growth.
  • Leadership Skills : Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage product lifecycles, and resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Project Management : Demonstrated experience in managing projects from initiation to successful completion.
  • Analytical Skills : Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Cultural Awareness : Ability to work in diverse environments and manage relationships with international teams.
  • Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with standard office software and project management tools.
  • Travel Requirements : Ability to travel up to 25% for customer site visits and related activities.
