The School of Education & Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Professor Clinical Teaching Track in the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited Counseling Program.

The School of Education & Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver is a statewide and national leader for educational quality access and equity across the education lifespan from birth through higher education. Members of the school community have been informing policy and practice while addressing the most important challenges faced by individuals schools and communities for more than 50 years. We prepare inclusive educational community family and mental health practitioners scholars and leaders dedicated to championing change that leads to well-being opportunity and life-long learning in the diverse urban rural and global communities that we serve. The schools degree programs engage students in a strategic and interrelated combination of course work and internships in schools agencies and community-based organizations. The school offers three doctoral level programs an educational specialist degree 13 masters degrees in multiple program areas and two undergraduate degrees along with many licenses endorsements and certificates. What you will do :

  • This position is focused on teaching and program leadership
  • Provide program leadership and administration including course scheduling program development and assessment lecturer hiring and leading accreditation and reporting.
  • Teach graduate courses in the Counseling Program in Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) core areas specifically : foundations techniques of counseling advanced techniques career counseling group counseling multicultural and social justice counseling supervision of practicum and internship. Infuse multicultural and diversity issues in all courses.
  • Participate in faculty meetings; provide committee service in the Counseling Program and the School of Education & Human Development.
  • Teach face to face and hybrid classes comfort working with multiple platforms used for course delivery
  • This is a full-time academic year non-tenure-track position. Opportunity for summer teaching is available.

    Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • A doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program.
  • Commitment to the professional fields of Counseling and Counselor Education as evidenced by education teaching clinical experience and professional affiliations (such as Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and the American Counseling Association).
  • Demonstrated success or potential success for graduate-level teaching and advising and undergraduate teaching
  • Licensed or license eligible as a Licensed Professional Counselor or School Counselor in the state of Colorado. If hired must be able to obtain a license in Colorado within 6 months.
  • Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Evidence of cultural competency and inclusion in clinical work.
  • Demonstrated bilingual (Spanish and English) competencies in working with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and families.
  • Clear evidence that race ethnicity class gender sexual orientation religion and veteran status and / or other social justice issues are addressed in syllabi teaching and supervision.
  • Evidence of program management and leadership experience in CACREP accredited or similar program
  • Experience with CACAREP accreditation reporting student advising training clinic management and program planning
  • Experience working with graduate students in instruction supervision and mentoring activities.
  • Experience working in and / or managing campus counseling clinic

    Compensation and Benefits

    The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $85000 - $88000. The administrative stipend for summer is 10% of 9-month base salary.

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training.

    The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
