Assistant / Associate Professor of Biology | Nebraska Methodist College
Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology to join the Arts & Sciences Division starting in Fall 2025 . This 12-month position, with a 30-credit hour workload, focuses on teaching microbiology courses with labs and contributing to other health science education needs, including pathophysiology and pharmacology. Additional teaching assignments may be based on the candidate’s expertise. The role also includes participation in a lab management rotation, supporting the college’s mission to prepare students for careers in health sciences.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Deliver effective instruction by demonstrating mastery of the subject, setting clear learning objectives, fostering student engagement, and utilizing diverse teaching methods while collaborating with faculty on curriculum development and ensuring timely course revisions for improved outcomes.
- Maintain high standards in teaching by systematically assessing student learning, providing constructive feedback, and upholding professionalism in punctuality, preparation, and class conduct.
- Participate in scholarly and creative activities aligned with the Boyer Model of Scholarship, contributing innovative and well-articulated work appropriate to rank and institutional goals.
- Engage in professional, college, and community service by actively contributing to the welfare of others through meaningful participation in required and encouraged service activities.
- Collaborate with the college community to support institutional growth through involvement in professional development, committee work, and service that benefits students, colleagues, and the broader community.
