The AUSTIN office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 2+ years' experience in civil litigation to join the Casualty section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure and excellent advocacy and writing skills. Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions and attending mediations is preferred and previous experience handling products liability cases is strongly preferred. Valid Texas bar license required.
The attorney in this position will defend a variety of products liability cases and depending on the size and nature of the case, will independently handle the day-to-day aspects of these cases, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, discovery and motion practice, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, and / or mediations, or work closely with a partner. The attorney will gain valuable litigation experience working on complex products liability matters and have the ability to serve as second or third chair on products liability trial teams.
