Job Title : Engineering Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Engineering Inspector to collect Geographic Information System (GIS) and Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating (PASER) data accurately on all roads within project schedules. The successful candidate will run the Smart Collect Software on a cellular-enabled iPad, provide navigation to the start of each road for the driver team member, review safety hazards on the road, and apply PASER methodology to evaluate roadway conditions and verify surface types with training.
Responsibilities
- Collect GIS and PASER data accurately on all roads within project schedules.
- Run the Smart Collect Software on a cellular-enabled iPad.
- Provide navigation to the start of each road for the driver team member.
- Review safety hazards on the road.
- With training, apply PASER methodology to evaluate roadway conditions and verify surface types.
- With training, review any culverts along assessed roadways to determine drainage functions of roads.
- Use BLM, GTLF, and FAMS data to identify starting points of the roads to be assessed.
- Collect GPS latitude and longitude to a minimum of five decimal places at the start and end points of project road segments.
- Measure and confirm the depth of aggregate along roadway segments.
- Take photos of roadway sections within project limits.
- Maintain project vehicle and equipment.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Work Environment
The work environment involves working in and around active roadways and construction sites all over Oregon. The role requires the use of technologies such as GPS, GIS, and Smart Collect Software on a cellular-enabled iPad. The position involves maintaining project vehicles and equipment, working outdoors, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. The dress code requires appropriate attire for construction site environments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.78 - $26.78 / hr.
