Material Planner Job Summary : The Material Planner will assist in planning the efficient and timely procurement of materials and performing accurate data entry into our inventory and production systems. This role ensures materials are available where and when needed to maintain production schedules.

Material Planner Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Generates material requests (MRs) based on project sales order demand, bills of materials, and drawing requirements.
  • Coordinates with purchasing to ensure that material requests are translated into purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with purchasing to track shipments and resolve delays.
  • Tracks material status on a project-by-project basis to ensure timely delivery and communicates this status to project management.
  • Resolves discrepancies arising from incorrect paperwork or other related problems.
  • Complete data entry tasks as necessary in ERP system.

Experience / Education :

  • High school diploma or GED required. An associates degree or technical training in logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a material planning or similar role. Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Skills Required :

  • Strong typing and data entry skills (minimum 40 WPM preferred).
  • Proficiency with inventory software and ERP systems. Epicor experience a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
