The City of Pueblo wants to hire you as an Auto Mechanic! A position that offers incredible benefits, competitive pay, and satisfying hands-on work!  The Auto Mechanic diagnoses, inspects, maintains, and repairs automotive vehicles and equipment.  The work involves servicing and repairing cars, trucks, construction equipment, police and fire vehicles and other automotive related equipment. This position may require you to work overtime and be on call during storms and emergency situations. As an Auto Mechanic for the City of Pueblo, you will be putting your skills and knowledge to good use to help support a great local community.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
• Five (5) years of recent experience as an automotive, equipment, or diesel mechanic in a truck or heavy equipment shop, automobile repair where experience in working with computerized engines, hybrid and battery electric vehicle systems, fuel injection systems, turbochargers, blowers, and automatic and manual transmissions (light and heavy) has been obtained. Current OEM or ASE Certifications can be used to supplement experience. 1-certification is equivalent to 1 year up to 3 years max.
