Project Engineer Location : Onsite – North Indy Salary Range : $75,000– $90,000 + Performance Bonuses Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM Position Overview : We are seeking a highly organized and detail-orientedProject Engineerto join a collaborative and close-knit construction team on a major project valued at over $50 million in North Indianapolis. This role is critical to supporting field operations and project management, ensuring construction teams have the tools, information, and resources needed to execute with excellence. This position is field-based, working closely with the Superintendent and Project Managers, and offers substantial growth potential. It’s ideal for professionals looking to advance toward Project Manager or Superintendent roles in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities : Field & Project Support Prepare field purchase orders and manage site-level procurement Coordinate and track material shipments, deliveries, and inventory Collect and document field production quantities for reporting and billing Support the creation of pay applications by validating field progress Document and manage backcharges, claims, and change orders Construction Documentation Process and review shop drawings and submittals for compliance and accuracy Maintain detailed logs for submittals and transmittals Perform weekly reviews to ensure timely approval and follow-up Project Coordination Participate in weekly project status meetings Assist with updating the CPM schedule Coordinate temporary site facilities (trash, water, internet, etc.) Liaise with vendors and rental providers for equipment logistics Field Engagement & Safety Participate in daily safety / production huddles (JHA reviews) Lead safety meetings and conduct regular jobsite safety audits Support field supervisors in interpreting drawings, specs, and RFIs Required Qualifications : 4–5+ years of experience in a construction project engineering role Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and RFIs Familiarity with submittals, material tracking, procurement, and logistics Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Proven ability to collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors Proficiency in construction administration and jobsite documentation Comfortable using ERP software (eCMS or similar preferred) Work Environment & Culture : You’ll be joining a high-performing team known for their camaraderie and positive work environment.
