PRIMARY PURPOSE
Effectively provide painting services for Lewis & Clark College under the auspices of Facilities Services with the financial resources available.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND REPOSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions
- Performs painting of College facilities to comply with College maintenance standards, safety standards, and building codes.
- Performs skilled painting repairs of buildings.
- Performs fine wood finishing and re-finishing.
- Matches and tints paint and stain as required and assists in developing color schemes.
- Patches sheet rock and plaster including mudding, taping, and texturing.
- Removes graffiti, wheat paste paper postings, and coordinates with professional graffiti removal services.
- Re-grouts ceramic tile surfaces and resets missing and broken tiles
- Properly and safely operates and uses airless paint spray equipment, sanders, manual tools, scaffolding, ladders, and equipment related to the painting trade.
- Assists in the development of supplies and material inventory required in the College paint program.
- Processes and maintains service request related files and paint records.
- Schedules and assigns projects in a timely and effective manner.
- Works closely and communicates well with faculty, staff, and students.
- Keeps work area clean and safe.
- Performs related work as required.
- Requires the use of proper PPE to meet OSHA requirements, including but not limited to : negative pressure respirators, medical clearance, respirator fit testing, maintenance, protection, storage, and proper usage.
- Requires meeting all applicable OSHA requirements per policy, procedures, and practices (such as but not limited to : lockout / tagout, ladder safety, fall protection, machine usage, forklift usage, confined spaces, hazardous communication, respiratory usage program, and other OSHA requirements applicable to the position.)

Pursuant to the Teamsters Local 305 Collective Bargaining Agreement, this position starts at an hourly wage rate of $30.29
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The word means that the work may be carried out over consecutive eight-hour shifts with the one half-hour rest period mid-shift, a fifteen rest period two hours after the start of shift, and a fifteen minute rest period two hours before the end of shift. Workers working under the conditions described in one and two above, are expected to vary their positions frequently to stretch in order to avoid fatigue and injury.
