We are seeking a Director of Inside Sales to join the executive team and lead the development and execution of sales strategies that maximize revenue, enhance customer retention, and expand market share. Job Summary

The Director of Sales leads, manages, and holds accountable the sales team and executes sales and customer service strategies to maximize revenue, expand market penetration and ensure customer retention. The position demands a strategic thinker who balances big-picture planning with tactical execution, ensuring initiatives align with Company objectives. The position requires optimizing processes, analyzing market trends, managing sales pipelines, fostering a high-performance sales and service culture, and designing strategies to enhance client engagement and loyalty. The incumbent may serve on the executive team and will collaborate with leaders managing Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Technology and Finance. The selected candidate must be driven, result-oriented and set an example for living the company’s Core Values.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Recruit, Train, and Develop Sales & Service Talent : Lead the hiring process to attract top-tier sales and service talent ensuring that new team members align with the company's values and growth strategy.
  • Lead and Manage Inside Sales, Outside Sales and Customer Service : Directly manage inside sales, outside sales and customer service teams, setting clear performance expectations and providing consistent guidance and support. Oversee day-to-day sales, ensuring efficient execution of sales processes and alignment with company objectives. Maintain a hands-on leadership approach, stepping in as needed to resolve challenges and drive results.
  • Set Clear and Measurable Sales Goals : Establish specific, measurable, and time-bound sales goals for individuals and the team, ensuring alignment with the company's overall growth strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales Management : Develops and delivers sales plans that meet or exceed budgeted goals through leading, managing, and holding accountable inside and outside sales team members. Optimizes sales activities to drive customer engagement, lead conversion, opportunity close, and wallet share growth across the Company’s customer segments.
  • Team Member Onboarding and Development : Designs and implements sales training programs, holding team members accountable to demonstrate product and process knowledge and continuous learning. Develops and implements team member development plans for direct reports and advise on the development plans of all sales team members.
  • Sales Analytics and Performance Management : Comfortable using data to strategically target new opportunities to cross-sell or trade-up current customers. Collaborates with data analytics and IT resources to develop and optimize sales reports, dashboards, and analytic tools needed to manage the sales team and report to key stakeholders. Participates in company-wide planning, development, and integration of CRM, PIM, ERP, and marketing automation tools and systems on behalf of the sales team.
  • Product Development Support : Collaborates with Product Development and Marketing teams to support product lifecycle initiatives and deliver sales targets for products through launch, growth, maintenance and end-of-life.
  • Planning and Performance : Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets. Builds and communicates staffing plans to exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Selling Skills : While the majority of this role is managing the sales team, the role may also be involved in directly calling on key accounts, supporting new partnerships (i.e. new distribution channel partners) and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Event Participation : Actively participates in conferences, distributor meetings, and industry events to promote product lines, establish key relationships, and gather market insights.

  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, sales, entrepreneurship, marketing or related field of study. Advanced degree or MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years’ experience in B2B sales, preferably in healthcare or another regulated industry.
  • 3 years of proven success in managing and growing sales teams to deliver growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in developing and administering sales training programs.
