Purpose of Position
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and identifying improvements by planning, implementing, and monitoring software framework solutions.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Identify and develop product specification, system design, development, and system integration for new and existing software applications
- Assist senior engineers in the design of new software product concepts and development; create and test product prototypes
- Conduct new technology research and concept specifications to influence the design of individual software components
- Collaborate with cross-functional areas on products and programs that will contribute to FSI's strategic direction, development, and future growth
- Monitor, configure, and improve integration with COTS platforms
- Consult with users on problem determination and provide root cause analysis in a timely manner
- Accountable and responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work and results
- Prioritize and manage workload and communicate issues clearly
- Complete other tasks as required
- Travel when required
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience
Minimum Experience
- 3+ years of experience in any software development role
- Proficient experience in .NET platform and MVC
- Proficient experience in Java/J2EE preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Solid experience programming in Visual Studio Development Environment utilizing the .NET languages (C#, VB.NET).
- Proficient understanding of Web Development: HTML5 and Javascript, React or similar JavaScript libraries.
- Knowledge of web service models: SOAP, OData, REST.
- Proficient experience with using SQL Server as a backend preferred.
- Proficient experience with Azure DevOps and Git preferred.
- Proficient understanding of testing principles, methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
