Material Handler - Job description
Work Hours: 8am -5pm
High attention to detail and strong work ethic is required. Must be able to manage inventory, provide technicians with requested materials, ensure orders are sent out on a timely basis and communicate with colleagues and work with minimal supervision. Responsible for managing/reporting the physical inventory of products and maintaining using our electronic inventory system. Contribute to company growth by helping provide process/item changes that impact cost repair.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately count and control inventory, using handheld scanning devices
- Physically transfer requested items from inventory to Tech space and update all changes in inventory through inventory system.
- Perform cycle counts to make sure the physical count of items match what is listed in the inventory system.
- Pull finished items that have been sold or exchanged to begin the shipping process (via pick tickets).
- Assist technicians to locate components from salvaged items that have little or no cost so as not to increase the repair price.
- Assist with the tear-down process, which involves maintaining accurate inventory both physically and systematically.
- Organize storage for new items that are received and track down items not in their listed locations.
- Ensure orders deadlines and customer requirements are met.
- Complete training on company Quality Policy & Manual, processes and procedures; take all necessary steps to maintain compliance with Quality Management System.
- Comply with company ESD standards.
- Properly complete and file required forms and paperwork.
- Maintain an orderly workspace according to the company housekeeping.
- Adhere to target times and costs to increase company profitability.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma and Forklift License (desired, not required)
Experience: Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be PC proficient
- Verbal and written communication skills to communicate with colleagues.
- Proven ability to prioritize, organize and efficiently manage time.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and recognize products and their components.
- Visual acuity, especially close vision and color vision.
- Proven ability to work cohesively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to lift 10-50 pounds regularly and up to 130 pounds occasionally with help from another employee.
- Must be able to stand most of the day.
- Requires good hearing and use of hands.
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
