Operations Director, 3PL Logistics

Job Description Summary

Core Logistics is in search of an experienced Operations Director to oversee Logistics business operations, people, and ventures. The successful candidate will lead a Core Logistics business unit headquartered in Coral Springs, Florida. The ideal candidate is a strategist and a leader capable of steering the company in a profitable direction while implementing the organizational plan, vision, values and exceeding all commercial goals. A key focus of the position is ensuring all objectives in support of US Operations are met and not allowing for divergence from agreed strategic guidelines.

Job description

Develop and execute the company’s business strategies to support attainment of US growth objectives.

Provide strategic advice to Division & POD leaders so that they have an accurate view of evolving business support challenges potentially impacting the company’s productivity.

Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and recruitment and retention of top talent.

Ensure company reports hierarchy, policies, values and legal guidelines are communicated across the organization and that they are always followed.

Communicate and maintain trust relationships with all stakeholders including customers, business partners, authorities & Core Team members in US and Colombia.

Establish, manage and drive cross-functional support functions providing guidance and motivation to exceed corporate targets.

Review and evaluate all surfaced matters to reward performance, prevent issues and conflicts and arbitrate when needed.

Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile.

Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company growth.

Develop company team members evolve and work towards attainment of their career goals.

Requirements

Proven experience as Operations Director or other managerial positions.

Demonstrable experience in developing strategic business plans.

Profound and well-rounded knowledge of the logistics field.

Proven experience in external logistics contracting.

Proven leadership skills with significant experience in professional assessment and development of company personnel.

Heavy equipment business knowledge would be an added value.

Thorough knowledge of requisite changes which influence & positively impact performance.

Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance.

Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.

College Degree with a major in business administration or relevant field; master’s preferred.

Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Travel as needed to customer locations and Colombia offices.
