Job descriptionMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal in a law firm. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties. Ability to work independently, managing a high volume of tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality work standards. Strong multitasking abilities with the capability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and iManage Document Management System. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree and / or Paralegal Certificate required.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to support our Bankruptcy Attorneys and assist with a wide range of legal tasks. This role involves preparing and filing legal documents, conducting research, and offering support across various bankruptcy cases. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in bankruptcy law and be comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with clients and third parties to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to Bankruptcy Attorneys by preparing, filing, and managing legal documents related to bankruptcy cases.
- Independently handle bankruptcy cases, ensuring that all necessary follow-ups and updates are completed on time.
- Track important dates and deadlines by maintaining accurate dockets and scheduling future follow-ups.
- Conduct thorough bankruptcy research using various databases, documenting and organizing the results.
- Draft and review bankruptcy-related documents, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Assist with electronic filings and preparation of bankruptcy motions.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the team.
