Job Description

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities :

Maintains a professional appearance and mannerism at all times

Maintains positive and professional attitude

Sets tables according to type of event and service standards, including types of linens, glassware, plate / chinaware, and silver / flatware, ensuring all supplies meet quality standards.

Delivers and serves food and / or beverage items in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction.

Removes china, glassware and silverware from tables at the end of the meal period and delivers to kitchen stewards' area.

Maintain back of the house, front of the house and side work duties for overall productivity of banquet events

Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.

Complete all other assigned duties when necessary

Follows Health and Safety practices at all times

Qualifications

Must be current Banquet employee of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

Knowledge of fine wines and food

Strong listening and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and a customer first mentality

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to adhere to quality standards for safety, sanitation and food handling

Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds

Ability to handle multiple guest requests at the same time.

Ability to work with little or no supervision.

Must be able to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.

Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds at a time.

Ability to work well around a large number of people.

Ability to work well with people in a team environment.

Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints and within established deadlines.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends and holidays.
