Role Overview
As a Labor Relations Representative, you will drive operational efficiencies through contractual agreements, support labor relations for employees and leaders, and foster a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure equitable administration of the collective agreement, including grievance handling, interpretation, and compliance.
- Facilitate effective management / union relations.
- Administer attendance programs and disciplinary assessments.
- Generate attendance reports and compile trend analysis presentations.
- Conduct EEOC and other workplace investigations.
- Coach and guide operating management on assigned shifts.
- Support implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of contract interpretation and application.
- Experience managing compliance and investigations in a unionized environment.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and handling challenging interactions.
- Ability to analyze data and use insights for decision-making.
- Customer-focused mindset : Committed to supporting employees, management, and union partners.
- Relationship building : Maintain open, transparent communication with all stakeholders.
- Collaborative approach : Consider diverse viewpoints in decision-making.
- Attention to detail : Ensure accuracy and follow-through in all tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of HR experience with emphasis on labor relations in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with HRIS and reporting tools.
- Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work onsite on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
