Part-time Bartender Jobs in Berkeley, CA

Position Overview :

Reporting to our Food & Beverage Management / Supervisory Team, we are looking for a seasoned, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our guests. The bartender will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and server beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION

Key Responsibilities :

• Welcoming customers, listening to the guest to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
• Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
• Prioritize drink orders from guests seated at the bar and drink orders from the service staff.
• Serve food to the guests at the bar and clear dishes once the guest has finished their meal.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, to the standards set forth by the Management Team.
• Checking identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and quality regulations.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate.
• Responsible for maintaining exceptional service levels.
• Continually strive for sales growth by having ongoing knowledge of all current menus.
• Clean the bar nightly, replenish stock as needed, organize inventory and store shipments of liquor in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Be perceptive, proactive, and engaging. Anticipate your guest's needs.
• Set the tone for success with a positive attitude and sincere enthusiasm.
• Engaging in clear, consistent communications with leadership and restaurant staff.
• Ensure that every customer is served efficiently and effectively.
• Must be a good example of policies and procedures while working alongside team members.
• Ability to communicate restaurant and hotel promotions, local attractions, and points of interest.
• Take Room Service orders when needed.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Wage Rate : $ 20.50 per hour
