Behavioral Health Medical Director Manager
This position invites you to join a dynamic team that emphasizes both in-office collaboration and the flexibility of remote work, allowing associates to thrive in a balanced environment. Ideal candidates will reside in California, as the position requires in-office engagement three days a week.
The Behavioral Health Medical Director Manager leads the administration of medical services for both Medicaid and Commercial accounts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective medical care while managing the medical management staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret existing policies and develop new ones in response to changes in the healthcare landscape.
Lead and implement clinical and non-clinical initiatives that affect healthcare quality, costs, and outcomes.
Identify and cultivate innovation opportunities to enhance effectiveness and quality.
Act as a resource and consultant to various departments; may chair committees and represent the company at external meetings.
Guide the medical management team to ensure timely and consistent feedback for members and providers.
Oversee hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
MD/DO with Board certification from an approved certifying board required.
Active, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in California is mandatory.
Must be located within a U.S. state or territory while conducting utilization reviews or appeals.
At least 10 years of clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous management experience is desirable.
Experience in managed care is highly regarded.
Capability to obtain a California medical license.
Experience or certification in addiction or child and adolescent psychiatry is a plus.
Please note, for positions based in California, the salary range for this role is $325,680.00 to $509,760.00, commensurate with experience, education, and other considerations.
