About the Role :
As a Therapist within our Health Care Services team in Montgomery, AL, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals and families through various mental health challenges. Your primary objective will be to provide compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that promote emotional well-being and resilience. You will work collaboratively with clients to assess their needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions. This role demands a deep understanding of psychological principles and the ability to apply diverse therapeutic techniques to address issues such as crisis situations, behavioral health concerns, and life transitions. Ultimately, your work will contribute to improving the quality of life for clients by fostering healthier coping mechanisms and emotional growth.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Master’s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field required.
- Professional licensure is required. If not, must be qualified to make application for ALC, LPC, LMSW, LICSW, or LMFT licensure within 90 days of hire.
- Demonstrated experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling.
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention and behavioral health management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse client populations.
- If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable sobriety.

Responsibilities :
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must not appear impaired or disoriented, but rather must present coherent and articulate speech, kept appearance, alert, oriented, and responsive to patients' needs and concerns.
Perform supervision, if assigned, and document supervision of supervisee according to policy and procedure
Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients and prospective clients.
Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.
Regular attendance.
Perform other professional duties as requested by the Clinical Director.
Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, “Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records”; and 45 CFR “Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act”. This position has unrestricted access to patient identifying information and patient health information.
Skills :
The required skills such as Counseling Psychology and Mental Health Counseling are essential for conducting thorough client assessments and developing effective treatment plans. Group Therapy and Family Therapy skills enable the therapist to facilitate sessions that address relational dynamics and promote collective healing. Psychotherapy and Crisis Intervention skills are critical for managing acute client needs and providing immediate emotional support. Anger Management and Life Transitions expertise allow the therapist to guide clients through challenging emotional states and significant life changes with empathy and practical strategies. Behavioral Health knowledge supports the integration of holistic approaches to improve clients’ overall mental wellness, ensuring that therapeutic interventions are both comprehensive and client-centered.
