A prominent mechanical contractor in Pittsburgh is seeking a Mechanical Design / Coordination Manager to lead a dynamic team of CAD Designers. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends technical design expertise with team management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical trades and a proven ability to coordinate complex piping, HVAC, and plumbing systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of CAD Designers : assign tasks, review work, provide training, and ensure quality output
- Oversee project timelines and ensure deliverables are completed within budget and schedule
- Develop detailed and accurate drawings for ductwork, plumbing, and piping systems to support prefabrication and field installation
- Utilize architectural and engineering models to create coordinated mechanical layouts, resolving clashes and optimizing system integration
- Maintain and update BIM schedules across multiple projects
- Collaborate closely with Construction Operations Managers, Sales Engineers, Superintendents, Project Managers, and General Contractors
- Ensure mechanical systems are fully coordinated with building components to minimize field conflicts and maximize efficiency
