POSITION PURPOSE

Liberator Medical Supply, a subsidiary of BD, is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics team. Our vision is to create world-class service capabilities making it easier for customers to manage their condition, improve their lives, and access and utilize our products. We are implementing solutions that are customer-centric, integrated, efficient, flexible, scalable and user-friendly. You will work closely with various business and technology teams to design, build, and automate analytic solutions. To be successful, you must demonstrate a passion for data and analytics and advancing the company’s data culture. Medical Device or Healthcare industry expertise is not a requirement, but a preference.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop data pipelines to load analytics systems from various sources including databases, APIs, and files

Design data integration solutions to manage the flow of data between systems and applications

Develop and deploy structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data storage models such as data lake and dimensional modeling

Evaluate and define functional requirements for data and analytical solutions

Monitor system performance, identify issues related to performance, scalability, and reliability, and design solutions to remediate

Partner with IT, Data Governance, and subject matter experts to create, automate, and deploy effective data quality monitors.

Develop and maintain enterprise data dictionary of data warehouse transformations and business rules

Ensure healthcare information security best practice controls are in place and they adhere to HIPAA utilizing a common control framework (i.e. NIST, HITRUST)

Implement master data management (MDM) solutions to collect, maintain, and leverage data for common business entities

Implement metadata management solutions to collection, maintain, and leverage application and system metadata

ANCILLARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Contribute to agile environment by proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and reducing execution complexity.

Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives to enable progress, and surface and resolve impediments.

Conduct quality assurance reviews and other activities to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of campaign deployments.

Implement reliable and scalable automation solutions using out of box thinking, delivering high quality user experiences

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OR QUALIFICATIONS (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education / Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, MIS or related field preferred

Database knowledge : Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake

Data streaming and CDC technologies : Kafka, FiveTran, Databricks

Data visualization tools and frameworks : familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus

Knowledge of AI / ML is a plus

Knowledge of SaaS / PaaS / IaaS / DaaS platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) including Infrastructure as code with Terraform, or similar

Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Pendo is a plus

Knowledge of CI\CD toolchain - Github, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform

Experience with understanding HIPAA / HITECH regulations and guidelines for securing ePHI & PII data

Qualifications :

7+ years of experience programming in SQL

5+ years of experience in ETL / data movement including both batch and real-time data transmission applications such as SSIS, Informatica, Kafka, Spark, dbt, or equivalent software

5+ years of experience data modeling including normalizing and dimensional modelling

5+ years of experience optimizing performance in ETL and reporting layers

3+ years of hands-on development and deployment experience with Azure cloud using .NET, T-SQL, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory, Cosmos DB, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and CI / CD pipelines

3+ years with APIs, microservices

3+ years of experience programming in Python / Java / C#
