Description
SAIC is hiring a Big Data Engineer for an active contract with the FAA HQ in Washington, DC. This position is remote and the applicant can reside anywhere within the U.S. but must be able to travel to both the SAIC facilities (Reston, VA and Washington D.C.) and the customer facilities (Washington, D.C. and Atlantic City, NJ) on an as-needed basis.
Works in cross-functional teams with data at all stages of the analysis lifecycle to derive actionable insight. Translates mission needs into an end-to-end analytical approach to achieve results. Performs the pre-analytics areas of data collection and understanding, data cleansing and integration, and data storage and retrieval. Determines the appropriate analytics based on the data and the desired outcomes, using techniques such as feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and business intelligence. Interprets the validity of results and communicates the meaning of those results. Has familiarity with data wrangling, analytics, and visualization software and programming languages, including analytics methods for big data. Follows a scientific approach to generate value from data, verifying results at each step.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors Degree and 9 years or more relevant experience; Masters and 7 years or more experience
- Knowledge and use of low-code / no-code data analytics and data science tools (Tableau, Dataiku, Cloud AI tools).
- The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
- Familiarity with RDS and NoSQL databases
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Target salary range : $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
