The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a motivated and experienced human service professional for the role of a Bilingual Services Coordinator - Bilingual in Spanish (Human Service Coordinator I) at the New Bedford Area Office located in New Bedford, MA. The Service Coordinator position requires a candidate who is able to speak, read and write Spanish and English proficiently as part of their job. The Service Coordinator monitors the safety and wellbeing of assigned individuals and advocates in regard to their human, civil, and legal rights through the implementation of support services, the Individual's service plan, and other necessary means.
Duties and Responsibilities : (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.)
- Monitor DDS funded and auxiliary funded programs.
- Maintain regular contact with individuals, families, and providers.
- Travel to individuals' homes, programs, and outside meetings; that may or may not be in close proximity to the Area Office.
- Coordination, facilitation, and monitoring the development and progress of support plans per DDS regulations.
- Utilize the communication methods needed for assigned caseloads.
- Provide outreach and coordinate referrals to community services and other state agencies.
- Provide up-to-date record keeping – both electronic and hard copy; maintain documentation for waiver or non-waiver services.
Preferred Qualifications :
Schedule Information :
Full-time – 37.5 hour weekly position.
Schedule Monday through Friday - 8 : 45 am to 5 : 00 pm
Days off – Saturday and Sunday
Flexibility with work schedule is required.
