Billing Analyst

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Billing Analyst. This position could be based in our Global Operations & Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling, WV, Charlotte, Portland, and Sacramento offices. The shift for this position in the Wheeling, WV and Charlotte office locations is 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST.

Responsibilities

What responsibilities will you have?

• Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as required
• Maintain a portfolio of billing attorneys
• Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests
• Process write-offs following Firm policy
• Ability to handle a high volume of complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, preparation of electronic bills)
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and clients
• Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required
• Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
• Work with applications team to create and implement new billing formats
• Create and distribute monthly reports
• Adhere to Firm billing policies
• Utilize computerized accounting and payables software programs (CMS, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities
• Ensure strict confidentiality at all times
• Assist with special projects, other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree, or equivalent work experience 1-3 or more years hands-on billing experience in a law firm CMS, Elite, Javelan (or equivalent accounting software) experience Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Ability to multi-task and prioritize Ability to organize work flow and use time efficiently Ability to show strong attention to detail Ability to perform at high levels in a dynamic ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position: Sacramento $66,000.00 - $81,000.00 Portland - $63,000.00 - $78,000.00 Wheeling and Charlotte $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
