Job Description

Job Title : Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – Full Time, 3rd Shift

📍 Location : Detroit, MI

💲 Pay : $30–$35 / hour

🕒 Shift : 3rd shift (full-time), open to 8- or 10-hour shifts

Job Duties / Responsibilities

• Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per departmental SOPs
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality
• Make technical decisions related to testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish bench supplies as needed
• Assist with specimen processing when required
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE
