Biology Teacher - Full-Time, Secondary School

Location : St Albans, AL4 area.

Working Hours : 8 : 30am - 3 : 30pm

Contract : Permanent

Qualification Requirement : QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

Role Responsibilities :

Plan, prepare, and deliver outstanding Biology lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities to teach KS5 depending on experience.

Use a range of teaching strategies to engage students, stretch their understanding, and foster a deep interest in scientific inquiry.

Implement effective assessment practices to monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback, and support student attainment.

Maintain excellent behaviour management and create a positive, inclusive classroom climate conducive to learning.

Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and whole-school initiatives.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and wider school activities as required.

Person Specification :

QTS is essential; applicants without this qualification cannot be considered.

Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Biology and science education.

Proven ability to manage behaviour confidently and effectively within a secondary school setting.

Highly organised, reflective, and committed to delivering high-quality teaching.
