THE POSITION
The goal of this position is to teach the 9th-grade biology curriculum and inspire a diverse student body with a love of STEM learning. Join us and gain experience as a 9th-grade Freshman Academy Teacher. Collaborative team to support experienced or novice teacher of Biology.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
1.NJ Teacher of Biology certificate. Experience and passion for teaching diverse students are preferred.
2.Teaching experience with knowledge of biology at academic and honors levels or AP level is preferred.
3.Ability to work on a collaborative, passionate team a must.
4.Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging physics lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
5.Develop and implement curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with NJ Science standards.
6.Create a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic and personal growth.
7.A criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident / immigrant status are required.

JOB GOAL(S)
To provide instructional leadership in the classroom in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education approved curriculum. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.
- Employs instructional methods and available materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Assesses the performance of students on a continuing basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Identifies students who require additional support services.
- Communicates with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Maintains high expectations for student performance and behavior.
- Engages in professional development activities, which enhances instructional practices.
- Participates in appropriate building and district meetings.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
