Position summary
The Senior Director, Biology (SrDir) is a dynamic and hands-on leader of the proteomic efforts that support the target identification and validation for the development of radiopharmaceuticals for solid tumors with high unmet need. The SrDir is the leader and technical expert in quantitative proteomics using mass spectrometry and has working knowledge of other orthogonal techniques for target validation (e.g. transcriptomics, Western blotting, etc.). The SrDir drives the strategy, oversees all activities within the proteomics group, and leads a team of highly skilled scientists with diverse skill sets. The SrDir is a key member of the team presenting results and participating in cross-functional groups to develop innovative solutions that drive multiple discovery programs forward in parallel.
Essential job functions and duties
- Provide strategic direction and technical leadership in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and other non-antibody-based methods of target validation.
- Oversee design and execution of proteomics experimentation to analyze protein expression, protein modification, and interactions using techniques such as liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS / MS), shotgun proteomics, and targeted proteomics.
- Oversee development and optimization of experimental protocols for membrane protein extraction, purification, and quantification from a variety of biological samples (e.g. fresh frozen and FFPE tissues, cells, serum).
- Perform in-depth analysis and critical oversight of complex proteomics data, including protein identification, quantification, and post-translational modifications, using bioinformatics tools and software (e.g. DIA-NN, Spectronaut, MaxQuant, MS Fragger, Skyline, R, Python, Perseus, etc.).
- Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, mass spectrometry and nano-HPLC systems.
- Prepare and present data reports and presentations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Recruit, coach, and retain scientists with a broad range of skills, fostering professional growth and creating a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
- Perform other responsibilities as required by business needs.

Compensation & Benefits
Radionetics has a competitive total compensation package that includes bonus opportunity; equity; medical, dental, vision, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; 4 weeks of paid time off (PTO) annually; and generous paid holidays.
Pay Range : $240,500 - $285,000
Radionetics evaluates a variety of factors in determining individual pay decisions, which may include relevant education, experience, and skills; internal equity; complexity and responsibility of the role; and market demand relative to the position. Geographic location may also be a consideration in evaluating salary when candidates work in states outside of California.
