Job Description: The Department of Biology welcomes applications for a permanent teaching-track (non-tenure) faculty position as an Assistant Teaching Professor to teach introductory biology, genetics, and upper level courses in the applicant’s area of specialization. The position begins July 1, 2026. Skillful teaching is a key responsibility, with a course load of six (6) courses over two (2) semesters. At Wake Forest, teaching professors hold a renewable position with an initial appointment of two years. Teaching Professors are fully integrated members of the Wake Forest faculty, with 9-month full-time appointments and eligibility for promotion through the ranks of Assistant, Associate, and Full. Teaching faculty are expected to support the Wake Forest University mission through service to the institution. Additional Information: Faculty members in the Department of Biology represent the teacher-scholar mission of a broad and integrative education in the biological sciences. Faculty in our department conduct research in a variety of areas. Our department offers a B.A., B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Biology.

Qualifications:
Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Biology or a related field is required. Qualified applicants will demonstrate their ability to teach courses serving Biology and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology majors and contribute to an academic environment that fosters learning and growth for all its stakeholders.
