Prime is growing by leaps and bounds. As we grow, our opportunities to add to our team grow. Prime Machine is looking for a Machine Shop Assistant. The ideal candidate is someone who desires to work as a machinist but doesn't necessarily have the experience or schooling. It is a great way to get your foot in the door to learn and grow into a career.
Typical schedule is Monday thru Thursday 10-hour shifts beginning at 5 : 30 a.m. Fridays is voluntary overtime.
A little about us :
Prime Machine, Inc. was created in 1979 to provide emergency Industrial Equipment Repair and New Component Fabrication Services to a wide range of customers statewide and beyond. We currently provide large and Small Machine Shop Services, Welding Fabrication, Millwright Field Services, Gearbox Repair, and State-of-the-Art Laser Inspection Services. Our major Customers are found in Mining, Power Generation, Aerospace and defense, and other critical Industries.
Responsibilities
- Assist the machinist with parts rotations and tooling set-up
- Scoop and empty the different types of metals used into the recycle bins
- Manage the facilities to ensure we are free of debris and safety hazards
- Load and unload trucks
- Assist with moving equipment in and out of the heat tank
- Ensure we maintain all compliances for ISO9001, AS9100 from a cleanliness standpoint
- Operate a CNC machine on occasion as you learn and develop
- Assist the maintenance team with PM's, projects, construction etc.
- Assist other departments when an extra set of hands are needed
- Shovel and salt the facility in the winter
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, pallet jacks, etc.
