We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist in the Media industry, located in El Segundo , California. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external benefits administration, collaborate with HR and other departments to develop best practices and processes related to benefits administration, and lead vendor reviews in partnership with benefits brokers.
Responsibilities :
Collaborate with HR or other internal departments to review, develop and establish best practices and processes related to benefit administration
Lead preparation and coordination of all aspects of vendor reviews in partnership with benefits broker
Work with the benefit broker and vendor(s) to ensure proper employee enrollment / coverage and dispute resolution with providers
Provide administrative support during 401(k) quarterly meetings including scheduling, material preparation, minute-taking, and communication materials
Responsible for billing, summary plan document, payroll deduction and contribution auditing and reconciliation
Review benefit deductions monthly to ensure accuracy of benefit enrollment and deductions
Support system updates for plans, deductions or contribution changes, audits data feeds and work with internal and external partners to ensure carrier connections / files are established
Complete and support compliance activities such as standard audits, and federal and state regulations
Assist with the open enrollment process, including the development of employee’s communications and presentations with the benefit broker
Oversee and direct the administration of COBRA compliance
Assist with all leave of absence activities, respond to leaves of absence matters, communicate approvals, denials, leave extension, re-certifications, return to work plans and other relevant information regarding the leave to employee.
Support the development of wellness programs and initiatives, including design and communication to increase engagement
Prepare required reporting for annual filings to the IRS (Affordable Care Act) with the support of our vendor / broker
Responsible for training the HR team on all benefit related initiatives
Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions and new approaches to effect continual improvements; including the development and communication of policies and procedures to support compliance and the benefits function
Participate in benefit survey submissions and data analyses
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Undertake the responsibilities of the role using the tools, software or technologies that may be available or required at the time.
