Position Function :

Lead the companys annual budgeting process by coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, developing and refining complex forecasting models, and presenting key assumptions and financial projections to senior leadership. Drive strategic decision-making through in-depth financial analysis, trend identification, and actionable insights to optimize performance. Serve as the subject matter expert on financial performance, maintaining a deep understanding of banking industry financial statements, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics to guide business strategy and financial planning.

Perform all duties and interactions with internal and external customers in alignment with the companys core values of approaching all actions with a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Exhibit core competencies that ensure positive customer interactions, empowerment, ownership, and demonstrate key professional skills such as active listening, effective communication, action and solution orientation, and thoroughness.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Budgeting / Planning & Forecasting
  • Lead the annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting process.
  • Collaborate with senior management, sales teams, and support centers to establish budgets and performance measurements at various organizational levels.
  • Ensure understanding and commitment to budgets across lines of business.
  • Analyze budget variances and recommend performance improvements.
  • Manage the bi-weekly forecast to update management on expected quarterly results.
  • Financial Analysis and Business Partner Responsibilities
  • Analyze trends and conduct root-cause analysis for divergent results.
  • Develop financial pro-formas to inform management decisions on new projects and initiatives.
  • Evaluate current financial reports and recommend improvements for relevant and timely stakeholder communication.
  • Analyze industry and peer financial approaches.
  • Serve as FP&A Business Partner to assigned business units.
  • Understand business units thoroughly and recommend profitability improvements.
  • Champion profitability analysis and foster a culture centered on profitability.
  • Data Governance
  • Maintain high standards for data accuracy and work with departments to ensure reporting consistency.
  • Administer the Axiom Performance Management System, ensuring policies and procedures are current.
  • Leadership
  • Exhibit executive-level communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial data into key insights and advise leadership.
  • Collaborate across business lines to drive strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Promote continuous improvement by evaluating processes and implementing best practices.
  • Deliver impactful financial reports and presentations, translating metrics into actionable insights.
  • Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders efficiently.
  • Communicate financial performance and strategies clearly to gain leadership buy-in.

Minimum Qualifications

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
  • Experience :

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, budgeting, management, or financial reporting (a bachelor’s degree can substitute for 2 years of experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
  • License / Certification :

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
  • Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to perform light physical work and lift items up to 20 pounds.
  • Proficient in operating standard office equipment and applications.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to hear sufficiently for daily interactions.
  • Ability to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Ability to work in an office setting, with adaptability to different environments as needed.
