Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a deep understanding of the modular building rental market, including customer segments, trends, and competition. Define the product / service vision and strategy based on market research, customer feedback, and business goals. Identify opportunities for new product development of enhancement to existing rental offerings to meet customer needs Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, engineering, and marketing to develop product roadmaps aligned with business objectives. Prioritize features and functionalities based on customer value, market demand, and technical feasibility. Engage with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to gather requirements and understand user needs. Gather and analyze customer requirements and translate them into actionable product specifications. Translate customer needs into detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Develop business cases for products / services including cost-benefit analysis and make data-driven decisions on product costs / features to maximize return on investment. Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure clear communication and alignment during the development process. Coordinate testing of products / services to ensure they function as desired and revise product / service design as necessary Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product launches. Collaborate with engineering teams to drive the development of new rental products or enhancements. Define and track key product metrics to evaluate success and iterate on product improvements. Analyze market data, user behavior and industry trends to identify opportunities for product optimization and competitive differentiation. Develop product / service documentation for assembly and after sales service Develop sales training materials Work with Marketing to develop product brochures, updates to the website, and product launch marketing campaigns Monitor product profitability / ROA, product performance and customer feedback, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions. Continuously iterate on the product based on feedback, data insights, and evolving customer needs. Support the introduction across all Boxx Modular markets of the SmartSpace product line by becoming a subject matter expert on the product, and aligning product deliverables with customer needs, while ensuring branch capabilities to support SmartSpace are optimised. Other duties as required. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as a Product Manager or similar role in construction, industrial products, or modular building industry. Strong understanding of modular building systems and their applications. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans. Ability to transition easily from high-level strategy development to hands-on physical creation, testing and demonstration of product prototypes. Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, create buy-in and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with data-driven approach to decision making including the ability to solve barriers to product customer adoption. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools. Passion for innovation and customer centric mindset. Ability to build relationships across the business, and collaborate effectively with employees, contractors, and customers Willing and able to travel within Canada and the U.S., position requires 30% travel to our branch locations across North America as well as to suppliers and manufacturing partners.
