About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
This role is onsite can be located at either the Northwood, OH or Holland, OH facilities.
Responsibilities include:
Performs work requiring testing, trouble-shooting, inspection, repair, maintenance, installation and construction work on HVAC equipment and related heating and cooling control systems in all work areas including Facilities Maintenance activities in accordance with local and state codes, standard practices, procedures, safety rules and regulations; performs duties such as:
- Diagnosing and locating faults and causes of trouble; making repairs, replacements and adjustments in accordance with Company and manufacturers’ standards and specifications
- Installing, testing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, ranging in size from small window air-conditioners to large central plant type air-conditioners or refrigeration systems such as: Ice making equipment; water cooling equipment; heating equipment; and the related heating and cooling control systems
- Arranging for the clearance and removal from service of equipment; circuits for inspection and maintenance work; tagging and removing tags from switches, wires, cables, etc. for his work; installing and removing grounds and taking all necessary safety precautions
- Performing duties relative to the preventive maintenance program
- Keeping work area in good order; cleaning up after completion of the work
- Reporting abnormal conditions observed or encountered
- Instructing and training employees in the work
- Performing similar of less-skilled duties
- Performing other duties in accordance with the section of the Job Manual entitled “Facilities Maintenance Repairman”
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of five years of field experience; Preferred experience in Facility Maintenance with emphasis on Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Systems (H.V.A.C.)
- Must have the ability to receive, interpret and pass on orders and instructions in a manner that will maintain harmony and safety and obtain cooperation and satisfactory work results from men assigned to the work
- Strong computer application skills: such as Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
- Highly driven, self-motivated worker that is organized, task oriented with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to ask detailed questions.
- Experience in process/project development, planning/analysis, and performance reporting.
- Ability to adapt communication skills to all audiences.
