Position : Bus Assistant
Reports to : Director of Transportation
Supervises : None
Qualifications :
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Paraprofessional experience preferred.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal : To assist in providing safe transportation of special needs students to and from designated locations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees. The employee may occasionally walk on wet or slippery surfaces. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with public and other co-workers. The noise level is frequently loud enough that the employee must raise his / her voice to be heard. The employee has direct responsibility for the safety and well-being of others.
Employment Terms : Nine (9) month classified hourly contact
FLSA Qualification : Non-Exempt
