Safely operate Trolley buses for guests of the Arlington Entertainment District and its venues.
Operates fixed route services and on demand / reservation services at the request of the
Arlington Entertainment Management Area District, including : Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor,
Rangers' home games, AT&T Stadium events, and Globe Life Field / Choctaw Stadium events.
Complies with all applicable Arlington Transit Management, RATP Dev USA work rules,
policies, and procedures. Includes adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and
other state and local traffic laws. Must meet Department of Transportation Physical Standards.
Requirements
Education :
High School Diploma or GED. Must possess and maintain a Commercial Class A or B Texas
State Drivers' License with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements (for A & B licenses).
Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to deal courteously with the public.
Ability to assist wheelchair / scooter-bound disabled customers in boarding and de-boarding
bus (requires occasional bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, and twisting while assisting
wheelchair / scooter customers. Long periods of sitting while driving / operating transit bus.
Includes reaching above head to adjust mirrors and destination signs during pre-trip
inspections.
Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical (medical) examination, which
includes an alcohol & drug screen. Per DOT / FTA standards, Arlington Transit Management's
bus operators are subject to random alcohol & drug testing as a condition of continued
employment. A criminal background check will be completed and assessed at Arlington Transit
Management of viable candidates.
Experience :
Drivers' history report from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), documenting driving
records for the past three to five years. Must be at least 21 years of age. Five years' experience in
the operation of a motor vehicle preferred.
No more than three (2) traffic citations for moving violations during the past three (3) years.
Accidents are also considered when reviewing DMV Reports (multiple accidents could
disqualify applicants). No Driving While Intoxicated (DWI / DUI) conviction within the last three
3) years.
Other :
Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical
medical) examination, including an alcohol & drug screen. Per DOT / FTA standards
Arlington Transit Management bus operators are subject to random alcohol & drug testing as a
condition of continued employment. A criminal background check will be completed and
assessed by Arlington Transit Management on viable candidates.
Must be able to work variable shifts and irregular hours. Must be able to communicate in the
English Language, both oral and written.
Summary
Operates Arlington Transit Management vehicles safely and efficiently on prescribed routes as
directed.
Promote exemplary customer service for fixed and event services by providing safe, courteous,
timely, and dependable service while transporting tourists to the Arlington Entertainment
District.
Requires above average oral and written communication, customer service, and decisionmaking skills. All Operators must have the ability to effectively use oral and written
communication in performing duties and responsibilities. Operators must not be easily
distracted or become easily frustrated with mechanical issues, passenger behaviors, traffic, or
dispatch requests resulting in delays and scheduling changes.
Ability to read and interpret digital maps, schedules, manifests, and provide route and schedule
information to guests.
Assist in the boarding of disabled customers who require the aid of accessible vehicles
wheelchairs / scooters) for the purpose of mobility. Involves bending, stooping, and twisting
while securing belts and straps to ensure the patron and vehicle is tied down in a manner that
ensures a safe ride (Ability to push pull wheelchair patrons). Also requires full range of motion
in turning of head and neck to shoulder in the normal defensive actions / motions of driving.
Operators are required to perform wheelchair securements. Must have ability to push / pull
wheelchair patrons and requires full range of motion in turning of head and next to shoulder in
the normal defensive actions / motions of driving.
Must meet qualifications and comply as outlined in Subpart E §391.33 Physical Qualifications
and §391.43 Medical Examinations of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal
Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
Must comply with Arlington Transit Management's Drug & Alcohol Testing Program as
outlined in the Department of Transportation (DOT) & Federal Transit Administrations (FTA)
49 CFR Part 40 & CFR Part 655 to include the Company's Abuse Policy. See Minimum
Requirements.
Operate radio system in accordance with Arlington Transit Management's established policies
and procedures and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).
Operators must adhere to the uniform application of the Performance Policy, Attendance
Policy, Safety and Operational procedures as designated by Arlington Transit Management.
