Responsibilities
You will report directly to the West Coast Waterfront Detachments Division Head, and as the fleet liaison at the waterfront, gain understanding of day-to-day maintenance challenges and maintain close customer relationships. You will operate as communication and assistance link between SURFMEPP and local maintenance, repair and fleet representatives involved in surface ship operations. You will interact with SURFMEPP HQ, Type Commander, Squadron and other fleet organizations and organizational representatives at the Everett, WA base to address, investigate and solve issues forwarded from operational units. You will operate with significant authority and autonomy to identify and articulate, as a surface ship maintenance, planning and analytical SME, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and / or program issues under review. You will analyze and present recommendations and guidance on maintenance issues and lead or support meetings (such as hot wash, post availability analysis, etc.); represent SURFMEPP at local meetings and conferences. You will provide program planning and advice to program stakeholders in the evaluation, assessment, selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques. You will assist with equipment / system monitoring and data collection to facilitate analysis by SURFMEPP and NAVSEA engineers to determine appropriateness of maintenance periodicities and identify existing and pending system failures. You will monitor maintenance performance and provide technical expertise and assistance to Squadron material staff. You will participate in planning and execution of repair and maintenance for mission essential systems on deployed surface ships. You will conduct ship visits to assess, evaluate and monitor key platform and system condition and maintenance issues; initiate inspections in support of Class Maintenance Plan requirements and integrate corrective maintenance / repair requirements. You will investigate significant incidents having real or potential impact on costs, schedule adherence, contractor performance and material support during implementation and execution of Condition Based Maintenance.

Conditions of Employment
Qualifications : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : analyzing processes or procedures to improve operational efficiency or effectiveness of a ship repair, maintenance, or modernization program.
