Job Summary :
The Revenue Cycle Business Intelligence Analyst (RCBIA) provides data analytics and visualization services for WellStar Revenue Cycle management and executive leadership.
The RCBIA is responsible for creating complex interactive visualizations, reports and dashboards to support business decisions using a range of technology tools. As such, the RCBIA is expected to have a broad and / or deep knowledge in a variety of business intelligence and data visualization tools used by the organization and be able to make recommendations concerning which tools are appropriate depending on the project or request.
The RCBIA is expected to gather requirements from customers, develop an understanding of the data, select the best tool and visualization, and working with operational Subject Matter Experts (SME), design, develop and distribute the analysis or visualization. They also coordinate with the SME and IT counterparts to ensure proper governance of data and appropriate data structures for reporting are in place. This includes performing documentation of the development process and may include process flows, data flows, business requirements, Q / A, peer review and appropriate approvals.
This individual will serve as a SME regarding the tools and techniques used for visualization of information and deliver timely, accurate and actionable information to the organization.
The RCBIA must be able to act with limited supervision and guidance within the organization and will serve as both a mentor and resource for the Revenue Cycle Reporting & Analytics (RCRA) team, as well as a project lead.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :
Analytics and Visualization
A. Demonstrates expert understanding of the business intelligence development project process.
B. Performs qualitative and quantitative analysis during all phases of project development. Applies appropriate statistical and mathematical principles to all analyses and demonstrates a working understanding of Revenue Cycle benchmarking and comparative analysis techniques and interpretation.
C. Demonstrates ability to Identify the most appropriate visualization tool and delivery mechanism for requests, builds and maintains reports for publication. This includes selection of the best graphical or numerical representation of the information and the appropriate level of interactivity and drill down.
Customer Support / Delivery
A. Proactively collaborates with customers to develop requirements and project scope. This includes identifying opportunities for process improvement to support operations.
B. Designs and presents appropriate visualizations that tell a story.
C. Function as the liaison between customers, SME, IT, RCRA and others on all aspects of requirements gathering, data structure, IT governance, and usability.
D. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the IT process for appropriate data model build and ability to work with the IT staging team members and counterparts in IT responsible for data warehouse and data model build to manage a project from development though QA and production.
Data Use and Management
A. Develops a working knowledge of the lineage, metadata and overall meaning of data being analyzed and document appropriately per WellStar guidelines.
B. Identifies and sources where possible, any data quality issues impacting analyses and be able to escalate appropriately.
C. Demonstrates expert understanding of relational databases in concept and practice.
Education / Training / Development
A. Continually maintains, grows, and develops knowledge and skills in applicable tools.
B. Serves as a training and informational resource for RCRA Analysts and others within the organization.
C. Maintains an understanding of a variety of technology tools used by WellStar to present information (e.g., Epic, SQL, SSRS, Advanced MS Excel, MS SharePoint, SAS, and Power BI)

Required Minimum Education :
- Bachelors Information Systems or Bachelors Computer Science or Bachelors Engineering or Bachelors Statistics or Bachelors Business Education
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) :
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Epic Cogito within 120 Days Required and
Epic Revenue Data Modeling within 1 Year Required and
HFMA CRCR within 120 Days Required and
Required Minimum Experience :
Minimum 8 years Data analytics and visualization Required
Required Minimum Skills :
Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team using a variety of methods - email, messaging, video calls and in person. Ability to use EXCEL, Word and have expert Office operational knowledge.
Strong background in designing and building publication-ready interactive and self-guided data visualizations using diverse sets of structured and unstructured data.
Strong aptitude toward understanding technology concepts and techniques and learning to use new data management and presentation toolsets.
Familiarity with SQL or other common query language recommended. Med Medium
