Position Description
The Business Analyst will assist the Data Management Division (DMD) and data governance functions in defining and developing standards, processes, and metrics to advance Texas Tech University's (TTU) Data Governance agenda under the guidance of the Executive Director. Other responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to area, making recommendations and assisting in implementation of projects. Work is performed under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with established policies and procedures.

About the Department and / or College
Through collaboration and coordination with campus partners, the Data Management Division will support all areas of Texas Tech University with the development, execution, and supervision of plans, policies, programs, and practices that deliver, control, protect, and enhance the value of data and information assets throughout their lifecycles.
Major / Essential Functions
- While limited management oversight may be expected for specific projects, this position is expected to exercise discretion and independent judgment of the following duties :
Performs mid-level business and systems analysis, including gathering, developing, and documenting user requirements and business cases, assessing business processes, and collaborating with stakeholders for detailed business requirements related to data governance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required plus one year related full-time paid experience OR a combination or related education and / or experience.
