Job descriptionIdentify and prioritize potential customers, expansion markets, new technologies, and projects. Execute business development action plans based on the Marketing Plan. Develop marketing materials and train Business Development Associates. Manage client relationships and ensure needs are met. Assist with pre-construction activities and oversee projects through all stages. Provide budgeting assistance to clients. Maintain and improve the CRM system. Coordinate and participate in client travel and events. Attend professional societies and get involved in industry events. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, supervision, and / or project management (combination of education, training, and experience also considered). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle is preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities. Self-motivated and proactive, with effective teamwork skills. Ability to interact professionally with employees, vendors, and clients.

Think Turner, Black & Veatch, etc...

General Information : The client is an Electrical Construction company that subcontracts for General Contractors on projects such as data centers, healthcare facilities, and airports. They are heavily involved in projects in California and major data center builds in Virginia and Abilene, TX. They are around $3B and looking to grow to $6B. These projects are long-term, and the client has additional projects lined up, so candidates concerned about short-term roles can rest assured. Please note that the client prefers candidates with experience in Electrical Contracting / Construction as subcontractors, rather than those who have only worked with large general contractors.
BDM Tips : The Business Development Manager positions offer a base salary, company equity, and bonuses. The client does not have a standard bonus structure, as their bonuses are discretionary; however, they are known for taking care of their employees.
One of the client's selling points is their ESOP. The client is an employee owned company that allots stock to every employee. This is a percentage of their base salary and there is NO COST to employees.
