Description : Position Summary :
The Business Development Manager is a key driver of profitable revenue growth for the company and is responsible for building and growing existing relationships, identifying and developing strategic opportunities, and managing the execution of new sales. The Business Development Manager will meet or exceed sales targets with the responsibility of acquiring new business and servicing / growing the current customer base.
The five main objectives for this position are :
1) Identify new business opportunities that match Salem’s strengths and capabilities to aggressively drive company growth.
2) Maintain existing accounts with an expectation of year-over-year revenue growth.
3) Accurate & detailed sharing of project specific details & info to guarantee the successful build and delivery of all sold business
4) Accounts receivable expectation to meet all required invoicing, billing dates, milestones, and collection dates.
5) The ability to work collaboratively with all departments of the business in a fast-paced, complex environment is critical.
The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).
Additional Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) :
- Focus on new account acquisition (hunter). Build, develop and foster relationships with key decision makers, influencers, and industry partners to pursue, and win, new profitable opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to expand partnerships and identify new revenue opportunities with the intent of capturing incremental year-over-year account growth.
- Work closely with CRO develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to generate profitable revenue growth to exceed company revenue goals.
- Assess potential new markets, evaluate business opportunities, and develop strategies for targeting potential customers.
- Gather and utilize business intelligence to support sales calls, presentations and drive new business.
- Develop presentations, proposals, and formal agreements for new business opportunities.
- Work closely with management for review / approval of pricing, available capacity, and delivery logistics.
- Utilize CRM and Monday.com resources to manage all tracking of customer and prospect sales activities.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback as required.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential business risks and opportunities
- Work collaboratively and across the organization to drive and achieve broader company growth objectives
- Facilitate and execute turnover to project management and operations.
- With CRO approval attend customer events for the coordination of setup and take-down logistics.
- Assist with post sale scope clarification, account forecasting and collections.
- Attend industry related functions as approved / assigned by CRO.
