Job Description
Who is Nest Health?
As the first value-based care provider built for families, Nest is on a mission to make comprehensive medical, behavioral, and social care radically accessible to America’s highest risk families. Nest’s first-of-its-kind family-based, in-home, and virtual care model includes primary adult and pediatric care, mental health and nutrition support, vaccinations and labs, same-and-next-day acute visits, chronic condition and transitions of care management, social services and navigation, and more. Nest’s innovative model has resulted in partnerships, unlocking care for thousands of families across our markets. Nest’s early success has led to national traction across states and payers, laying the groundwork for future expansion to families across the United States.
What does it mean to be a part of a startup?
Working at a healthcare startup can be a unique experience with a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that can involve varied workloads, quick changes, and high expectations. Taking a position at a Healthcare startup allows for the opportunity to be high impact in disrupting the US healthcare system. You will have the chance to be creative, solution oriented, and have your voice heard! You will need to be flexible, accountable, and self-sufficient, and you might take on multiple roles. Here are some things you can expect :
Role Breadth- Your role may be less defined than in other settings, with the need to wear multiple hats & juggle various responsibilities
Learning opportunities- you will have the opportunity, at times, to function outside of your standard position and learn about new roles & areas
Fast Paced- Startups often must move faster than traditional large companies. This means you may be asked to cope with or advise on quick changes regarding systems or processes
Autonomy- You will need to be highly autonomous, as there is less structure and learning and development than at large orgs. This requires you to be able to learn asynchronously, as well as raise your hand when help is needed, or gaps are identified
Collaboration- With so many opportunities to build processes and improve how we deliver care to our patients, we rely heavily on one-another to communicate changes effectively to ensure seamless support across functions. This often requires this individual to give and receive feedback frequently and communicate challenges or opportunities effectively.
What is the purpose of this role?
The Business Intelligence & Analytics Lead will own and drive the analytics and BI function, with a special focus on implementing AI-powered analytics. This individual will be responsible for developing advanced analytics, building and optimizing dashboards, and leveraging AI to deliver actionable insights for clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders. The Business Intelligence & Analytics Lead partners closely with the Data Engineering team, but is focused on analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and the application of AI, not inclusive of data infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
Own Analytics and Business Intelligence : Set the vision and roadmap for analytics, business intelligence, and AI-powered reporting at Nest Health, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational priorities
Lead Analytics Projects : Manage multiple analytics, reporting, and AI projects from requirements gathering to delivery, ensuring timelines and business goals are met
Develop Advanced Dashboards & Reports : Build, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and other BI tools, integrating AI models and automation to enable data-driven decision-making across clinical operations, growth, and value-based care
Translate Data into Insights : Analyze large datasets, synthesize findings, and communicate actionable recommendations to leadership and operational teams
Implement AI in Analytics : Identify, design, and deploy AI-driven solutions (e.g., predictive modeling, natural language processing, machine learning) to enhance reporting, forecasting, and decision support
Work closely with clinical, operational, and executive teams to define business requirements, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure data sources are available, accurate, and optimized for analytics and AI applications
Promote Data & AI Literacy : Provide training and technical assistance to colleagues regarding optimal use of BI tools, interpretation of analytics, and understanding of AI-powered solutions.
Maintain Documentation & Quality : Ensure project documentation, data quality checks, and compliance with healthcare reporting standards
What do you bring to the Nest?
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field—or equivalent experience
4+ years working in a data analytics related role in the healthcare industry (payer, provider, population health, VBC, or similar)
2+ years building dashboards with Microsoft Power BI or similar BI tool
2+ years working in a cloud / On-prem environment (e.g., Azure / SSRS)
Proven ability to build out analytics functions from the ground up, translating raw data into actionable insights in growing dynamic environments
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to work independently and within cross-functional team
Demonstrated ability to lead requirements and data review sessions with non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insights
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services for data and analytics; experience with Microsoft DevOps for source control
Experience with EHR data and healthcare data standards; familiarity with value-based care metrics and P4P programs
Experience with CRM data models and integrating CRM data into analytic workflows
Relevant experience implementing AI / ML models in analytics, such as predictive analytics, NLP, or automation is preferred
How you’ll work
You will operate in a fully Azure cloud environment leveraging Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, and Excel as your main tools.
You value our culture of Collaboration, Humility, Authenticity, Resourcefulness, and Joy, and you bring that spirit to every project and interaction
You care deeply about data quality, governance, and security, and design your work to be auditable, documented, and privacy-preserving (e.g., HIPAA-aligned processes)
Travel & Physical Requirements
Occasional travel (approximately once per quarter)
Prolonged periods working at a computer; ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
