Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of HIM Operations, the Manager of HIM Operations is responsible for the management of both Hospital and Clinic level Document Imaging Departments to ensure medical records are retrieved, scanned, analyzed and filed for timely maintenance in accordance with Federal, State, and CoxHealth regulatory standards. This role will also manage the EMR Coordinator and Transcription teams and work closely with the Outsourced Release of Information Vendor, and the Outsourced Transcription Vendor. The Manager of HIM Operations will assist in the implementation of departmental objectives, policies, and procedures in alignment with CoxHealth and Health Information Management Department goals, and will establish and maintain professional relationships with Coding Leadership, Providers, Clinical Leaders, Staff, and Vendors.
Job Requirements
- Education Required : Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years related experience in lieu of degree
- Experience Required : At least 2 years’ leadership in Health Information Management or related experience
- Skills Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills Must be able to work effectively with staff, public and external agencies Must have the ability to take initiative and to exercise good judgement and decision making Problem solving, critical thinking, conflict management, negotiation, and personal development Familiarity with Electronic Health Records Systems and data privacy laws Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Licensure / Certification / Registration Preferred : RHIA or RHIT
